Thomas McGarry Nestor, 86, longtime Wilbraham resident, died peacefully on Monday, April 27, 2020 at Renaissance Manor Holyoke. Born in Holyoke to the late Edward and Anna (McGarry) Nestor, he was a proud Air Force Veteran of the Korean War. Tom graduated from Holyoke High School and attended Temple University. He was an Assistant Engineer at Pratt and Whitney for many years until his retirement. Tom loved belonging to St. Cecilia Church where he was an usher, activity director and member of the Knights of Columbus. He always worked hard to provide for his family and loved vacationing with them on Cape Cod. He was an avid Yankees fan, much to the chagrin of his family! Tom was predeceased by his wife Norberta A. (Kelly) Nestor in 2017. He will be sadly missed by his four children: Ann C. Messeck and her husband Warren of Agawam, Thomas E. Nestor of Newtown, CT, Michael Nestor and his wife Paula of West Springfield and Maureen Liquori of Hampden as well as three beloved grandchildren: Spencer T. and Sydney G. Liquori and Brandon Nestor, nephews: Tommy and Steve Menard and niece Kathy Murray. He also leaves grand dogs: Ringo, Gracie, Amber, Aspen and the late Dakota. A private Funeral Service will be held at Wilbraham Funeral Home and burial will follow in Adams Cemetery. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Cecilia Church at a future date and time to be announced. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dominican Monastery, 1430 Riverdale Rd., West Springfield, MA 01089 or to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104.
