We are deeply sorry for your loss - the staff at Wilbraham Funeral Home
It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the passing of our loved one, Ronald J. Crooks, 53, on July 16, 2022. He was born April 8, 1969 in Holyoke, MA to Richard and Doris (Lavarnway) Crooks, Sr.
During his life, Ron worked as an insurance salesmen and restaurant manager. Ron had a tremendously warm, engaging and charismatic personality, which made him a natural born leader during his management career and well respected during his tenure in sales. Anyone who’s ever met Ron knows we lost an amazingly kind, generous, and humorous soul. He loved his family and friends passionately, and never failed to express those emotions with words. With Ron, you always knew exactly how he felt about you.
Ron had many interests in life. He was a huge sports fan and music enthusiast. His favorite sport was baseball; though he loved them all – including football, basketball, hockey, and golf. He grew up on the ballfields of Holyoke. He was a tremendous athlete; a fierce hitter and outstanding catcher. In addition, not only was he an avid music listener, he was lead vocalist in multiple bands during his youth.
Besides his mother, Doris Crooks of Chicopee, he leaves behind his wife, Hilarie Crooks and their daughters, Madelynne, Olivia, and Sophia of Wilbraham; his daughter Marissa Crooks of Longmeadow and her mother Carla Scionti of Suffield; his brothers, Richard Crooks Jr. and his wife Hope, of Florida; Robert Crooks of Agawam; and Raymond Crooks and his wife Linda of Wilbraham. Ron left behind several loving nieces and nephews: Jeremy, Candice, Amber, Joseph, Alicia, Angelina, Julia, and Stella. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, July 21st at 2 PM at St. Cecilia’s Church, 42 Main Street, Wilbraham, MA. Christian Burial will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. There are no Calling Hours. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation online at al-anon.org.
