Ralph Joseph Dygon, 90, died peacefully on Sunday, March 14, 2021 at Life Care Center of Wilbraham. Born in Springfield to the late Leon and Salomea (Grondalski) Dygon, he lived most of his life in Indian Orchard. A proud Army Veteran stationed in Alaska, he was a Detective with the Springfield Police Department, Crime Prevention Bureau, for 30 years until his retirement. An avid golfer, Ralph enjoyed vacationing in Myrtle Beach, SC and Florida, and loved family gatherings. Ralph will be sadly missed by his loving nephews; Richard Dygon and his wife Elaine of Ludlow, Carl Dygon and his wife Patricia of South Hadley, Michael Dygon and his wife Sheila of Gilbertville and Ernest Moccio, loving niece Carole Lemieux of SC, five great nephews; David Dygon, Rick Dygon and Brian Dygon, Jason and Zachary Lemieux, three great nieces; Arlene Kruzel, Heather Dygon and Jill Lemieux, sister-in-law Corrine Dygon of Gilbertville and close friend John Chmura of Wilbraham. In addition to his parents, Ralph was also predeceased by brothers Karl Dygon and his wife Jennie Dygon, Dominick Dygon and sister Florence Moccio. The Dygon family would like to thank Dennis Lopata and his staff at Life Care Center of Wilbraham for the exceptional care given to Ralph. Family and friends may attend a walk through Visitation on Friday, March 19th from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham (masks and social distancing required).
