Patricia A. (Murphy) Pasini, 88 years old, formally of Cass Street and The Ward in Springfield, died peacefully Monday night at her home in Sixteen Acres, surrounded by her loving family.
Patricia (Pat) attended Cathedral High School on Elliot Street. She graduated proudly from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing as a registered nurse, a calling she was honored to answer for over 71 years.
Patricia worked at Handie’s in the North End of Springfield. Her career then turned to Mercy Hospital for many years. The next two decades were dedicated to nursing care at the Jewish Nursing Home. Proudly completing her career as a RN at Murphy-Avis Assisted Living, a company which she fondly watched grow, originally started by her sisters.
Pat spent over 40 years vacationing in Connecticut every summer trekking the family to Point of Woods with her husband Bob. She loved going to Fenway Park with her family and grandchildren, and once managed to get special VIP seating in front of the Bullpen out in center field! She also frequented Marco Island with her siblings for many years. Ironically she recently became the #1 fan of NFL Kansas City’s Patrick Mohome’s and made sure she watched every game of his from her chair on Lumae Street!
Pat “Ran the City from her family room chair” and everyone knew to call her to find the latest news or updates about the large & extended family.
Patricia was an accomplished Irish Step dancer who spent a great amount of time at Irish dances and Festivals from Springfield to Scituate Ma. and Tralee, Ireland.
Patricia was married at Sacred Heart Church in 1957 to the great love of her life, the late Robert M. Pasini. They happily settled in Sixteen Acres and started their family of eight children.
She is survived by her eight children; Maryann and husband John Chwalek of La Honda, CA, Robert Pasini of Springfield, Noreen and husband Henry Talbot of East Longmeadow, Sheila Meucci and husband Enrico of Sutton, MA, Christopher Pasini and wife Sheree of Enfield, CT, Michael Pasini and wife Amy of Scituate, MA, Moira Pasini and Chris Morris of Longmeadow and Thomas Pasini and Lisa Gentile of East Longmeadow. She is also survived by her brothers Noel Murphy and wife Judy of Longmeadow, Frank Murphy and wife Marian) of Southington, CT and her sister Helen Murphy-Avis of East Longmeadow, her brother-in-law Bob McDonald of Friendswood Tx, along with Judy (Quinn) Murphy and John Pericolosi.
She was also predeceased by her sisters; Maureen McDonald and Eileen Pericolosi, daughter in law Amy K. Pasini, and brother in law James Avis.
Patricia was always excited to visit with any and all of her adoring 18 grandchildren any chance that occurred. Always a loving grandmother, she started a new chapter in her life in 2021, that of Great Grandmother (with emphasis on GREAT).
Her nephews Craig and Eric Pericolosi grew up across the street and were very special to Pat , always around to help fix a leaky faucet, or ensure her Internet was always up and running as fast as could possibly be!
She leaves behind an innumerable number of cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends stretching from Long Island, Texas, Maine and of course Ireland!
The family would like to thank Terry Fredette, Eveline Malboeuf, and Sally Laporte, her daily companions from Murphy-Avis Assisted Living for their love and dedication to our mother.
The extent of her love, touched all, and a celebration of that love is something the Pasini family will continue forever.
