Margaret Ann Cantalini passed away on May 10, 2020, Mother’s Day, after a brief illness. She lived her entire life in Springfield. She was born on November 9, 1926 to Vincent and Jennie Sessa and had a sister Mary, who has preceded her in death. She married Cenze Cantalini in 1948, had two sons, and 52 years of marriage before he passed in 2000. Their first son, James married Hanne Cantalini and they had two children, James Jr. and Claudia in New York City. Their second son, Richard married Anne Cantalini and they had two children, Lauren and Christina in Fort Worth, Texas. In turn Christina married Robert Weaver and they have Margaret’s first great grandson, William in San Antonio, Texas. Her first job after graduating from Commerce High School was at the Westinghouse plant until she was married. She raised and cared for her family until she began volunteering at the former Springfield Municipal Hospital helping the elderly for over 30 years. Margaret worked voting polling stations for decades up to a year and a half year ago. She was very social, loved to go to a wide range of events and traveled widely. She was a long-time member of the Red Hat Ladies and Hobby Club of Springfield. She loved to line dance and play bingo.
