Linda Karen (Peterson) Grant, 78, affectionately known as "Bobby" died peacefully on Monday, May 4, 2020. Born in Springfield to the late Russell and Gertrude (Kunitz) Peterson. In addition to her parents, Linda was also predeceased by her husband Herbert Bruce Grant, son Kerry Grant and brother David Peterson. She is survived by her two daughters: Lori Maynard and Karen Grant, both of Springfield, five cherished grandchildren: Bryan Maynard and his companion Caitlin, Steven Maynard, Jeremy Favreau, Zachary and Madison Grant. She was excited and looking forward to meeting her first great grandchild in July (Maverick). She had a great love for all animals especially dogs and will be missed by her loving and loyal dog Cobi. Linda worked in the cafeteria at Duggan Middle School for 35 years a job she truly enjoyed. She loved traveling with friends going to bingo, craft fairs, Dunkin Donuts and church. Her life was a living example of one of her favorite Bible verses, Ephesians 4:32 — “And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.” She was truly the most forgiving and compassionate person we knew. Until her health condition made it impossible, Linda was an active member of Bethlehem Church. She loved her duties as a greeter and attending Bible studies. She made friends everywhere she went and had many lifelong friends she cherished. A special thanks to all that loved her. Her family is grateful to the staff at Sixteen Acres Health Care Center and Beacon Hospice for the care and services provided to her during her final months. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date and time to be announced. Wilbraham Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Bethlehem Church 123 Allen Street Hampden Ma 01036 Samaritan Fund or online at www.Bethlehamhampden.org/give Samaritan Fund or Amedisys Beacon Hospice 815 Worcester Street Springfield, MA 01151.
