We are deeply sorry for your loss - the staff at Wilbraham Funeral Home
Elaine Mae (Morrison) Pluta, 95, of Berkshire Avenue passed away Saturday at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield. She was born in Springfield on April 1, 1927, to the late Eleanor (Gosselin) and Edward Morrison and came home to her brother Edward, Jr. She was a proud, lifelong Springfield resident, graduated from the High School of Commerce, then worked at Standard Time Co. Later, she worked for over 20 years as a paraprofessional helping the deaf in the Springfield School System. A communicant of St. Cecilia Church in Wilbraham, she enjoyed crafting, travelling, dining out and laughing with her loving son David, whom she felt so fortunate to have caring for her in her later years. Elaine loved all the Corgi dogs she owned and raised over the years and was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She was predeceased by her two husbands, both of whom were WW II Combat Veterans. Her first husband, Floyd Glynn was killed in action on D-Day and her second husband, Edward J. Pluta passed away in 1997. She was also predeceased by her loving daughter Gerri Glynn and her brother Edward Morrison. She leaves her devoted son David J. Pluta, with whom she lived, and many wonderful friends she cherished throughout her life, especially Evelyn Knapp, Fran Cameron, Rita Lombardi and Terry Cohen. The family would like to thank the staff at Ludlow Dialysis for their kindness and compassionate care. All services including the burial at St. Aloysius Cemetery will be private. Wilbraham Funeral Home has been entrusted with all arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations in Elaine’s name may be made to the Shriners’ Hospital for Children, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104.
