Edward Patrick Seery, 91, died peacefully on Thursday, August 5, 2021 at Baystate Medical Center. Born in Elizabeth, NJ to the late Anna Novak and William Seery, he served his country proudly as an Electrician’s Mate First Class in the US Navy for four years. Upon honorable discharge, Edward worked as an electrician for Bell Telephone Company for 14 years. He then attended Seton Hall University to obtain certification to become a vocational teacher and taught future electricians for 18 years at Union County Vocational Center in Scotch Plains, New Jersey. His influence on students was so great, that many stayed in touch with Edward long after their graduations to report to him how valuable his teachings were to their careers and lives. After retiring, Edward moved to Cape Cod, MA and became the Electrical Inspector for the town of Provincetown in 2000, and honed his golf skills enough to become Senior Club Champion of the Captains Golf Course in Brewster, MA in 1997.
Edward was predeceased by his high school sweetheart, his beloved wife Mary Ellen (Jones) Seery in 2014. He will be sadly missed by his daughters Deborah S. Kelly and her husband Don of Wilbraham, MA and Cathleen Crisafulli and her husband Jim of Titusville, FL; three grandsons, Edward Halton Axtell and his wife Marissa of Amherst, MA, Silas Blake Axtell and his wife Vanessa of Worcester, MA and James Crisafulli of Viera, FL; and three great grandchildren, Theodore, Charles and Josephine Axtell. He will be fondly remembered as “Steady Eddie” by his in-laws, Richard and Helen Jones of Vero Beach, FL, Robert and Barbara Jones of Ponte Vedra, FL, and Patricia and Jack (deceased) Jones of Toms River, NJ.
Please join us at Edward’s Funeral Mass which will be held Friday, August 13th at 11:00 AM at St. Cecilia’s Church, 42 Main St., Wilbraham, MA followed by burial in Woodland Dell Cemetery in Wilbraham. The family will have a private viewing on Friday from 9:30-10:30 AM at Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham.
