Obituary

David Fox Gibb, 87, passed away on March 27, 2022 surrounded by the love of his family. Born and raised in Ludlow, he was the son of the late George and Eleanor Gibb. He was a graduate of Ludlow High School and American International College. He completed an Apprenticeship with The Pond-Ekberg Company where his love of printing grew into a lifelong career.  He served in the Army National Guard for three years and retired as Vice President of Sales from Bassett Printers in 1999, after 39 years with the company. A longtime resident of Wilbraham, he gave back to the community in many ways. He enjoyed the friendships he made while serving on the Hampden-Wilbraham Rotary Club, as Past President and Trustee of the Woods Condominium Association, and as Treasurer of the Woodland Dell Cemetery Association. Dave loved to stay active and made many friends skiing, playing tennis, and most recently working out at the YMCA. He served as Director and Past President of the Blandford Ski Area and for 48 years on the National Ski Patrol.

He leaves his twin brother Robert Gibb and his wife Eileen; his sister Marjorie Haley and her husband Robert; his children: Elizabeth Ketzler, Jennifer Silva (Mike), Kathryn Gibb, David Gibb Jr. (Yongunee), and Rebecca Gibb; His former wife, Wendy Whyte Gibb and her children: Jill Gookin (Cliff), Jennifer McLoughlin (Kevin), and Jeff Whyte (Jennifer).  He will be deeply missed by his 14 grandchildren: Aaliyha, Mariyha, Philip, Oliviyha, Daniel, Laura, Carter, Madison, Lauren, Camryn, Presley, Clark, Marielle, and Brennan, and his great granddaughter Kyla; his nieces: Colleen Haley-Read and Heather Haley; and many extended family members and friends.

He enjoyed many years vacationing at Biddeford Pool in Maine, Aruba, and Cape Cod. He enjoyed shopping for new cars to add to his collection and was the first to place an order for the latest Hess truck. He loved handing out calendars each year and thanks to his good friend Ed Demetrion he was able to continue this tradition long after he retired from Bassett. His family would like to thank his roommate Daniel for the unwavering friendship and the staff from Care Tenders, Baystate Wing Hospital, and Vantage of Hampden.
