Longtime Wilbraham resident Charles A. Magarian, 93, died peacefully on Wednesday May 5, 2021 at Orchard Valley of Wilbraham supported by his loving family. He was born in Boston to Armenian immigrants Aram and Armine (Shamlian) Magarian. Charles was predeceased by his beloved wife of 63 years Mary E. “Betty” (Hartford) Magarian in 2013. He was also predeceased by his sister Alice and brother John. He will be greatly missed by his family: children Carol Magarian Fonseca of Volcano, HI, Nancy Magarian Sinclair and husband Kevin of Wilbraham and John Charles Magarian and his wife Katherine of West Simsbury, CT. He is the proud grandfather of Jamie Rothfeder and his wife Mithra, William and Collin Magarian, Kate Sinclair, Kevin “KJ” Sinclair Jr and his wife Kaila, and four great grandchildren: Halina, Ivy, Ziggy and Teagan Rothfeder.
Throughout his life Charles devoted his energy and passion to his family, profession and community. He graduated from MIT after serving with honor in the US Army. Charles pursued his love of science as a chemical engineer for 35 years at Monsanto Co. A Research and Development Manager Charles holds several patents and was recognized in Who’s Who in America.
He enjoyed traveling and dancing with his lovely wife Betty. Music was one of his life delights along, with sailing and skiing.
His family sends heartfelt thanks to the Orchard Valley Community for the many years of compassionate loving care.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Wilbraham Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
