Allen Lane Dillard

November 14, 1949 ~ November 13, 2021 (age 71)

Obituary

Allen L. Dillard was born in Brooklyn, NY Nov 14th, 1949. A decorated Army Veteran (including a Purple Heart Presented by President Nixon) who was drafted at 20yrs old and served 2 Tours in Vietnam.  Allen was a Martial Arts trained Samurai Black Belt, and a Government Trained Sharpshooter.   Allen spent his life helping others.  Allen also volunteered as a Pen pal and stayed connected with fellow Wounder Warriors . He studied Psychology at CUNY MEC, started as a Psychiatric Nurse assistant at Elmhurst Hospital in Queens NY and became a Psychiatric Technician at Baystate Wing Hospital in Palmer Ma.

Allen passed away 2 days before his 71st Birthday, asleep in his home on Nov 12th in Wilbraham MA. He is survived by his wife Cynthia Vose Dillard, children Ashley Hahizimana,33, Brandice Horne,40, and grandchildren, Aliya Horne,18, & Kaya Horne,14, his Ex-wife Marion Conyers, their daughter Zoelayma Dillard and grandsons Zoe’ll Dillard and Deon Lowe jr, Marion’s son Jumel H Dillard and his daughter Esther Paz, his ex-wife Dyanne Darby and their oldest children: daughter LayFoya Johnson, her husband Lou and their children
Alex 33 (Liz) Cori 31, Melandy 30, Devonte 29, LaTrice 35, Traeyvon 31, Lou II 29, LeRoque 24
and Great grandchildren: Atiyanna 16, Ariella 13, Mirialyz 10, Hadleigh 6, Alex III 5 and Scarlett 5, his son
Reginald Dillard and grandchildren Reginald jr, O’shiquandi Tayia lynch and Brianna ta’nae Dillard, his brother
William Dillard and wife June, his sisters Bertha Dillard, Mary Dillard and Janice Dillard and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
Allen will have a Committal Service with Military Honors on Friday Dec. 17th at 9am at MA Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St, Agawam, MA 01001. His cremated remains will be placed to rest in the ‘Wall of Remembrance’ following the Service.
