Obituary
Longtime Wilbraham resident Willard E. Hick, III, 70, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, April 17, 2018. Born in Carbondale, PA, he earned his Bachelor’s Degree at Western New England College and served proudly in the National Guard. He was an auditor at Mass Mutual for 31 years until his retirement in 1999.

Bill was on the executive board of the Institute of Internal Auditors, which awarded him and his wife the opportunity to see much of the world over his career.   He was a former President of The Country Club of Wilbraham, overseeing the addition of the “Back 9”, a volunteer at Wing Memorial Hospital, as well as the Westover Galaxy Community Council.  He was an active member in many national and regional car clubs and leaves his two adopted children, “The Ford’s”, behind as well.

Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years Donna (Auger) Hick, their children; Willard E. Hick, IV and his wife Shefali Desai of East Longmeadow, Wendy Robinson and her husband Steve of Belchertown, his mother Anne (Moran) Hick of Somers, CT, one sister and 4 cherished grandchildren; Jason, Jenna, Abigail and Willard V.   Bill was predeceased by his father Willard E. Hick, Jr.  His family and friends will greatly miss his enthusiasm for life, contagious smile, sense of humor and willingness to lend a helping hand.   These beautiful traits were seen through his love of family, golf buddies and precious dogs.  All services will be private. Wilbraham Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, PO Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9168 or to the Thomas J. O’Connor Animal Control & Adoption Center, 627 Cottage St., Springfield, MA 01104.
