Wally Henry Paradis, 88, of Swasey Drive passed away Wednesday at the JGS Life Care in Longmeadow. He was born in Springfield on September 22, 1934, to the late Bernice (Fish) and Albert Paradis. He graduated from Tech High School and moved to Wilbraham in 1963. Wally worked as a pipe fitter for Baystate Gas for over 30 years. Prior to that he served as a Fireman for the town of Wilbraham for several years. He was a longtime communicant of St. Cecilia’s Church where he worked as the church’s handyman for years. He was a member of the Knights of Colombus at St. Cecilia’s Church. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. Wally was also a member of the Wilbraham Lions Club. He loved his local sports teams, especially the Bruins and the Red Sox. Wally was an avid model ship builder. He was the beloved husband of 64 years to Mary “Maureen” E. (Keough) Paradis, loving father of Sheila Foucher and her husband George of Monson, Mark Paradis and his wife Beatrice of Belchertown, and Kristyn Frauton and her husband Adam of Medway, caring brother of Maryellen Lemieux of FL, devoted grandfather of Greg, Danielle, Nicolle, Ashley, Matthew, Luke, Shawn, Bryanna, Erik, and Alyssa, and cherished great grandfather of Landon, Skylynn, Leo, Declan, Hunter, and Mackenzie. He was predeceased by his great granddaughter, Olivia. The calling hours will be 4 – 6 pm Sunday at the Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Road, Wilbraham. The funeral will be Monday at 11:30 am at the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass at 12:30 pm at St. Cecilia’s Church, 42 Main Street, Wilbraham.
