Obituary
Victor R O’Brien, Sr, 80 of Wilbraham, passed away on April 5, 2020 after a long, difficult battle with dementia.  Vic was born in Holyoke Ma on March 24, 1940 to the late Ralph and Elizabeth (Roberts) O’Brien.

Vic proudly served his country in the US Army in the 101st Airborne Division where he received many honors and commendations.  He retired with a very distinguished career on January 22, 1965. After his time in the Army, Vic and his wife Carol returned to Chicopee where they stayed to raise their family.  Both Vic and Carol became active in ward 6.  Vic eventually became alderman of Ward 6 and held the position for many years.  He worked for Baystate Refining before going into business with his son.

Vic and Carol spent lots of time together traveling to various places.  One of his favorite trips was to Egypt.  They were fortunate to be able to visit King Tuts tomb and walk in The Valley of the Kings together.   Vic loved his family above all else and cherished the time he spent with them.

In addition to his parents, Vic was predeceased by the love of his life, his wife Carol in 2006, also by his brothers Alexander (Sandy) in 1967 and Ralph Jr in 2003. Vic is survived by his son Vic Jr and his wife Jeannine, his three grandchildren, Lauren, Mitchel and Gillian, his brother Gary O’Brien and his wife Aurea of Port St Lucie FL, his sister in law Joan O’Brien of Chicopee, brother in law Ken Kuenzel of Chicopee, sister in law Terry Cartier of Chicopee and many nieces and nephews.
