Thomas John Speight, Sr., 66, died peacefully on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at home. He was born in Springfield to the late Thomas W. Speight, III and Patricia (Manning) Speight. Tom was a graduate of East Longmeadow High School, Class of 1977. He worked for many years as a Pipefitter for Local 104 and was a communicant of St. Michael’s Church in East Longmeadow. He had a deep love for nature and the Pacific Northwest, Rhode Island beaches and found joy in laughter. In addition to his parents, Tom was also predeceased by his former wife Barbara (Sando) Speight. He is survived by his two sons; Thomas J. Speight, Jr. (Jen) and Michael Speight, and cherished granddaughter Claire, six sisters; Kathleen Speight, Maureen Van Tassel (Gary), Eileen Speight, Patricia Bundy (Doug), Sheila Logan (Tim) and Johanna Trainor (Scott), as well as eight nieces and nephews and several cousins and close friends. A special thank you to Terry Kallaugher for her compassionate care of Tom. Family and friends may meet for Tom’s Funeral Mass on Friday, October 31st at 12:00 Noon at St. Michael’s Church, 128 Maple St., East Longmeadow. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hampden. Wilbraham Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union Local 104 Scholarship Fund, 86 Lower Westfield Road, Holyoke MA, 01040.
