Thomas E. Dean

Longtime Wilbraham resident Thomas E. Dean, 85, died peacefully on Friday, December 12, 2025, at home. Born in Holyoke to the late Donald and Barbara (Spicer) Dean, he served his country proudly in the US Air Force. He worked as a customer engineer for IBM for 35 years until his retirement. An avid bowler, Tom’s passion was gardening.

In addition to his parents, Tom was also predeceased by his brother Robert Dean. He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years LaRae (Paquette) Dean, their four devoted sons; Michael Dean and his wife Minako of Japan, Thomas Dean of MA, William Dean of NY and Matthew Dean and his wife Ratda of TX, brothers; Donald Dean and his wife Carol and James Dean and sister Barbara Duford.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 18 from 4-7PM at Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham. Tom’s Committal Service with Military Honors will be held on Monday, December 29th at 9:00 AM at MA Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St. Agawam. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104 or to the Food Bank of Western MA, 25 Carew St., Chicopee, MA 01020.
