Susan A. (Minie) Falzone, 84, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2017 after a brief illness. She was born on April 15, 1933 to the late Frederick and Kathleen (Doran) Minie, and graduated from Chicopee High School in 1950. Susan was predeceased by her beloved husband of 53 years Joseph Falzone on May 30, 2005, and by her son James Falzone on August 31, 2013. She spent her entire adult life in Springfield raising her family and participating in her children's school PTOs. A charter member and communicant of the St. Catherine of Siena Church and their Women's Guild, she was also a longtime member of the Holy Name Women's Bowling League. With her husband, she was an avid (and successful) Bingo player. She loved her vacations to Hampton Beach with the family, her "special" trips to Hawaii and Europe, her visits to see "Jimmy" in Florida, knitting and crocheting for the grandkids, sewing her house flags for everyone, and her crossword puzzles. Susan also had a flair for the written word and her poems and notes were enjoyed by many. Her family was everything to her, and she leaves to cherish her memory, her son Joseph and wife Judith of Wilbraham, daughter Wendy and husband James of Springfield, her wonderful grandchildren, Kristen (Scott) Harvey, Richard (Kristi) Falzone, William (Stefanie) Falzone, Brennan Mascaro (Lindsey Brush), Kyle, and Evan Mascaro, Jacob Kohler and Nicholas and Angelina Falzone. Also, her angelic great grandchildren, Ryan, Brianna, Grace, Caroline, Tyler, Elise and Timothy. She also leaves her sister Judith Duclos and numerous nieces and nephews as well as many friends both locally and in Florida. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, May 11th from 4:00-7:00pm at Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham. A Celebration of Life Service will be Friday at 9:00 am at the Wilbraham Funeral Home followed by Committal Services at 11:00 am at the MA Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St., Agawam. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Baystate Health Systems Foundation, 759 Chestnut St, Springfield, MA 01199 or the Friends of the Homeless, 755 Worthington St., Springfield, MA 01105.
