Obituary
Lifelong East Longmeadow resident Stephen F. Reed, 66, died peacefully at home on Wednesday, November 11, 2020. Steve retired from the CT Department of Corrections after over 20 years of service. He was a faithful communicant of St. Michael’s Church in East Longmeadow, and an active member of the Springfield Elks Lodge #61. An avid sports fan, Steve especially enjoyed rooting for the NY Yankees and Giants, and spending time with his son Brendan. Steve is survived by his mother Charlotte T. (Leahy) Reed of East Longmeadow, son Brendan D. Reed and his wife Sarah J. Reed of Feeding Hills, sisters: Kathleen Woodbury of Milford, Tricia Hawley, Nora Dion and Maureen Sonoda, all of East Longmeadow, one brother Matthew Reed of Enfield, CT and several nieces and nephews. Steve was predeceased by his father Charles W. Reed and his sister Cheryl Reed. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 17th from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham. Visitors are required to wear masks and practice social distancing. Due to Covid state guidelines for occupancy, we request that visitors pay their respects and exit to your car. Family and friends may meet for Steve’s Funeral Mass on Wednesday at 10:30 AM at St. Michael’s Church, 128 Maple St., East Longmeadow. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
