Shirley C. (Walsh) Couture, 88, passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Providence, RI, May 23, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Ronald and Christine (Gorman) Walsh. She grew up in Springfield and graduated from Springfield Technical High School and lived in Wilbraham for 52 years. Shirley owned and operated the Brides Showcase in Longmeadow for many years taking great pride in personally ironing every gown that left the shop. While raising her children, Shirley was active in the Girl Scouts. She was always involved in activities of the church, first at St. Peter�s in Springfield and later the Church of the Epiphany in Wilbraham. She was an avid bridge player and was a member of the Wilbraham Women�s Club and the Choral Group. Shirley spent many years with her beloved husband of 61 years, the late Leonard J Couture, watching the beautiful sunsets from their home on Wilbraham Mountain. She leaves her loving children; Christine Camblos and her husband James of Crozet, VA, Catherine Couture of Williamsburg, VA, and Candace Bogdan and her husband Cornell of West Springfield, her beloved grandsons, Lyle and Mark Camblos and Joshua Burdick. It is with deep regret that Alzheimer�s Disease prevented Shirley the joy of knowing and loving her six great grandchildren. The funeral will be held Tuesday at 11am from the Church of the Epiphany 20 Highland Ave Wilbraham, with a calling hour to precede the service from 10-11 at the church. The Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham has been entrusted with services.
