Obituary
Sandra J. Sweeney, 73, died peacefully on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at Baystate Medical Center. Born in Springfield to the late Earl and Helen (Jarvis) Forkey, she was a faithful communicant of St. Elizabeth Parish. Sandy worked alongside her husband at Sweeney Transportation in Chicopee, as Manager, for 28 years until her retirement. She is survived by her beloved husband of 32 years Martin Sweeney, their three children; Todd Burke and his wife Deborah, Mark Sweeney and his wife Mary and Kathleen Sweeney, two sisters; Betty Colby and Phyllis Kerstetter, eight grandchildren; Maegan, Amanda, Marissa, Caroline, Elizabeth, James, Matthew and Anthony and four great grandchildren; Mackenzie, Delaney, Saela and Varian. Sandy was predeceased by her brother Earl Forkey and sister Joan Ramos. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 26th from 3-6 PM at Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham. Funeral will be Monday at 9AM from Wilbraham Funeral Home to a Funeral Mass at 10 AM at St. Elizabeth Church. Burial will follow in Island Pond Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Elizabeth Church, 191 Hubbard St., Ludlow, MA 01056.
