Obituary
Sally J. (Thompson) Carlson, 72, died peacefully at home on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Pittsfield to the late Dean and Anne (Magill) Thompson, she was a longtime East Longmeadow resident. She was a graduate of Cathedral High School and was a faithful communicant of St. Michael’s Church in East Longmeadow. The greatest joys in Sally’s life were her family and dear friends. Sally was predeceased by her beloved husband Robert L. Carlson, Sr. in 2014. She is survived by her eight children: Jill Cameron, Brenda Courtemanche, Wendy Belanger, Kimberly Saso, Terrilee Piepul, Jennifer Morrisino, Robert Carlson, Jr. and Eric Carlson, brother: Dan Thompson, sisters: Donna Lee and Sharon Wiley, eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Family and friends may meet for Sally’s Funeral Mass on Monday, Oct. 21st at 10:00 AM at St. Michael’s Church, 128 Maple St., East Longmeadow. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Wilbraham Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104 or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
