Ruth N. (Jahn) Petrie

Ruth (Jahn) Petrie, 96 of Ware, formerly of East Longmeadow, passed away peacefully at home on 2/28/16. Born in Springfield in 1920, she was the daughter of the late William and Lillian Jahn. Ruth graduated from Commerce High school in 1941. Married in 1942 to Malcolm �Mac� Petrie, who passed in 2010 after 68 years of marriage. Ruth is survived by her daughter Norma Silloway and son-in-law David Silloway of Ware, grandson Raymond Berthiaume and wife Cassandra and great granddaughters Isabelle and Scarlett, who brought great joy to their great grandmother. She is also survived by her son John Petrie of Palm Springs, CA and brother Arthur Jahn and his wife Carol and their sons Stephen and William, all of Wilbraham. Grandchildren Jessica Petrie and her daughter Brooke Ann and son Nathan Quattrocelli, Robert Petrie, and Billie Jean Petrie and her son Caleb and fiance Jon Rubio, all of Brimfield. Ruth was predeceased by her son William R. Petrie and his wife Garma of Brimfield, her brother Earl Jahn and his wife Virginia, and sister Dorothy Dietrich. Ruth was a devoted mother, an avid gardener, talented seamstress, and loved cooking. She loved her home and neighbors in East Longmeadow where she lived for 52 years and decorated for every season. She and "Mac" loved dancing at the Elks. Ruth�s Funeral Service will be Monday at 11:00 am at Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Park Cemetery, Springfield. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one�s choice.
