Robert John Underhill

Longtime East Longmeadow resident Robert John Underhill, 95, died peacefully on Sunday, February 7, 2016 at the Soldier�s Home in Holyoke. Born in Scohaire, NY, he was a proud Army Veteran serving with the 5th Armored Division in Europe during World War II. He worked as a self employed carpenter for 40 years and was a longtime member of the East Longmeadow United Methodist Church. He was predeceased by his wife Vivian (Chaplin) Underhill in 2000. He will be sadly missed by his son Gary R. Underhill and his wife Flo of East Longmeadow, daughter Gwen Fuller and her husband Robb of Meriden, NH, three beloved granddaughters and four great grandchildren. A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, February 12th at 2:30 pm at Hillcrest Park Cemetery, 895 Parker St., Springfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the East Longmeadow United Methodist Church, General Building Fund, 215 Somers Rd., East Longmeadow, MA 01028.
