Robert R. Belli

Robert R. Belli, 88, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away on August 30, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones after a long and courageous battle with heart disease.

He leaves behind his daughter Gina Whipple and her husband Jim of Longmeadow, MA with whom he lived for the last 4 months; daughter Julie (Laptas) Nelson and her husband Jim of Pittsfield, MA; daughter Debbie Boschetti and her husband Michael of Boston, MA; and son Michael Belli of Sarasota, FL.

Robert was predeceased by his wife Janet, his daughter Karla Leavenworth, and his parents Roger and Mary Belli.

He was the best Pops/Poppy/Papi to his 10 grandchildren: Jennifer (Whipple) House and her husband Timothy of West Lafayette, IN; Dan Whipple and his wife Tyler of Danvers, MA; Jared Laptas and his wife Justine of Cohasset, MA; Erika Granaroli and her husband Max of Philadelphia, PA; Nicholas Boschetti and his wife Julianne of Weston, MA; Ashley Cosgrove and her husband Patrick of Roswell, GA; Rachel Boschetti and her husband Sandy Perez of Boston, MA; Taylor Leavenworth of Manhattan Beach, CA; Dylan Belli of Austin, TX; and Hayley Belli of Murrells Inlet, SC.

Pops/Poppy adored his 9 great grandchildren: Emerson, Leah and Harper House of West Lafayette, IN; Lily Whipple of Danvers, MA; Skylar Laptas of Cohasset, MA; Myles Granaroli of Philadelphia, PA; Nina Boschetti of Weston, MA; and twins Valentina and Lorenzo Perez of Boston, MA.

Robert's greatest joy in life was raising his family with Janet and watching his grandchildren and great grandchildren grow. Family always came first. Bob and Janet were married for 64 years before her passing. Together they created a legacy of love and family – 5 children, 10 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren. They are now reunited with their daughter Karla in heaven.

The family would like to thank Dr. Darren O'Neill for his years of compassionate care. We are so fortunate that he took such great care of Robert and Janet. Also, the family would like to thank his team at Baystate Cardiology: Dr. Cecilia Berardi, Shawn Selby, CNP; and Mary Nabors. Mary was Robert's Heart and Vascular Nurse who called weekly to see how he was doing. They became family and we cannot thank them enough for all their loving care.

His family would also like to thank Father CJ from St Mary's Parish in Longmeadow, MA for his spiritual support to our family.

There will be a private family burial. A special thank you to Lori Callahan of Wilbraham Funeral Home for her love and support in helping our family at this difficult time.
