Richard Martin Szydlowski

Obituary
Richard Martin Szydlowski, 88, died peacefully on May 24, 2020 at Vero Health & Rehab of Hampden. Born in Enfield, CT to the late Martin and Helen (Motyka) Szydlowski, he graduated from Providence College in 1953 and went on to earn his MBA from American International College. He worked as an electrical engineer for many years until his retirement. A faithful communicant of St. Cecilia’s Church, he was also an altar server for 16 years. He was a devoted fundraiser for Providence College and coached baseball for many years in Springfield.
He will be sadly missed by his devoted wife, Barbara, of 65 years, their three children, Mark S. Szydlowski of Wilbraham, MA, his daughter-in law, Joanne Delaney Szydlowski of Wilbraham, MA; Christine B. Szydlowski of Wilbraham, MA and Martin F. Szydlowski and his wife Donna M. Trout of Bowdoinham, ME. His beloved grandchildren, Kait Szydlowski and her husband, Andy Fellows of Hoboken, NJ; Michael and his wife, Jess Szydlowski of Aviano, Italy, Matthew Szydlowski of Wilbraham, MA, and Mark Trout Dumond of Portland, ME.
The family would like to express heartfelt thanks to the staff, nurses, aides, physical therapists and others at Vero Health & Rehab that helped keep Richie comfortable for the last two years.
Richie’s funeral service and burial will be private. Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham is in charge of the arrangements.
