Richard W. Searles

Richard W. Searles, 64, passed away on Monday, October 23, 2017. A lifelong Wilbraham resident, he was a graduate of Minnechaug Regional High School and worked as a heavy equipment operator for the Town of Wilbraham DPW for over 20 years. Rick was also the former owner of Baystate Cable Co. An avid skier, he was a ski instructor at Blandford Ski Club. A motorcycle collector and enthusiast, he loved animals and York Beach, ME where he visited every year. He was predeceased by his parents Carl Richard and Nancy (Wright) Searles. He is survived by his former wife Debra Searles, son Daniel A. Searles, daughter Jennifer L. Searles and her fianc� Mike Barone, his sister Susan Day Searles and her wife Lynn Gorey and cousins; Diane, Robert, David and Laurie. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 26th from 3-6pm at Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd., followed by a Memorial Service at 6:30pm. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace Union Church, Chapel St., Wilbraham, MA 01095.
