Obituary
Richard R. Martin died peacefully in Clearwater, FL. on October 26 at the age of 75. Rich was born on September 13, 1945 in Springfield to the late Robert F. and Nancy (Basile) Martin. He was predeceased by his brothers, Butchie and Johnny.
Richard was a plumber by trade, however he was avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing, and passionate about his New England Sports Teams, especially the Patriots and Red Sox.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 33 years, Sandra L. (Vernadakis) and his 7 children, Edward Thibodeau of Chicopee, Mary Jane Rickson (Matthew) of Warren, Robert Martin (Tracey) of Springfield, Kenneth Thibodeau of Largo, FL, Nancy Alpine (Ron) of Springfield, David Thibodau (Melanie) of Springfield, and Richard Martin (Jennifer) of Springfield.
Grampy will be missed by his 14 grandchildren: Samantha, Alaina, Christina, Rebecca, Benjamin, Daniel, Zachary, Emma, Richard, Natalie, Erin, Gabrielle, Nathan & Hannah and his one great grandchild Meredith. They were truly his pride and joy.
Richard also leaves his brother Robert (Mary) of Sebastian, FL, his sister, Lucille Cochrane, of Springfield, brother Roy (Joanne) of Wilbraham, MA, brother Pasquale (Iris), of East Longmeadow, sister Nancy of West Palm Beach, and Daniel (Jackie) of Springfield. Calling hours are Wednesday, November 18, from 6-8 P.M. at the Wilbraham Funeral Home at 2551 Boston Road, Wilbraham. Visitors will be required to wear a mask, practice social distancing and be aware that funeral home staff will be limiting the number of visitors to stay within state mandates. Burial will be private.
