Obituary
Richard C. Heineman, Sr., 88, died peacefully on Friday, November 4, 2022 at Life Care Center of Wilbraham. Known to most as Dick, he was born in Annapolis, MD to the late Samuel and Williamina (Condon) Heineman, he was a proud Navy Veteran of the Korean War.
Dick had a passion for automobiles and worked with them all of his life. A dedicated sports fan, he loved NASCAR, the Patriots, and Tom Brady. He particularly enjoyed attending his grandson’s games, where he was a fixture in the stands. Dick loved his time living at Miles Morgan Court in Wilbraham. He enjoyed spending time with his many friends there and his cat Midnight. Dick never missed an episode of Survivor and could recite most Westerns by heart. He loved food and had an especially strong appetite, his favorite being original chicken and mashed potatoes from KFC.
Dick is survived by his devoted son Richard Heineman, Jr. and his wife Marian of Holland, beloved grandson Gregory Heineman of Wilbraham and sister Sandra A. Heineman of Vero Beach, FL. Dick is predeceased by his loving companion Dorothy Martel and survived by her dear daughter Charlene. Richard’s Funeral will be Thursday, November 10th at Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham. Visitation will be held from 9-10 AM with a Remembrance Service at 10 AM. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Hillcrest Park Cemetery, Springfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions will benefit the TJ O’Connor Animal Control and Adoption Center, 627 Cottage St., Springfield, MA 01104, where Dick rescued his faithful companion Midnight.
