Raymond James Kenney, 92, passed away on January 11, 2026, at Worcester (MA) Rehab and Health Care Center, his residence for the last two years. Born in Manchester, NH, to Walter and Nancy (Severance) Kenney, he grew up in Springfield, MA, and graduated from Commerce High School in 1952. He was then drafted into the Army and served stateside as a clerk-typist during the Korean War. He later attended Boston College on the GI Bill and earned a degree in business. He married Judith (Tromblay) Kenney in 1957.
Ray worked in hotel management and as an accountant for various businesses in the Boston area and in Western Mass., New York, South Carolina, and Florida. For many years he and Judy lived in the Tampa Bay area, where he was very active in community theater as an award-winning actor and director.
Ray is survived by daughters Laura, Sue, and Paula; six grandchildren; and one great-grandson. He was predeceased by his wife Judy, their daughter Janice, and their son Brian.
