Obituary
Pola “Marie” Valentine, 86, died November 18, 2018 at Life Care Center of Wilbraham. Born in Tewksbury, MA to the late Malcom and Mary (Rooney) Thompson, she graduated from Holyoke Community College and Holy Cross Nursing School, in Worcester MA. Marie was a Licensed Practical Nurse for over 50 years at several local nursing homes and was a faithful communicant of St. Cecilia’s Church in Wilbraham. She was predeceased by her husband James Richard Valentine in 2017 and will be sadly missed by her daughter Judith (Judy Bug) Valentine and her partner Jennifer Vorro of East Providence, RI. Marie passed away peacefully on Sunday with Judy, Jennifer, her niece Erin (Hill) Dowding as well as her nurse Fran by her side. Marie’s Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 23rd at 11:00 AM at Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham. An hour of visitation will precede the Service from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Wilbraham Funeral Home. Burial will be in MA Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Life Care Center of Wilbraham Sweet Shop, 2399 Boston Road, Wilbraham, MA 01095. Marie loved her chocolate ice cream.
