Phyllis (Patten) Serra

November 18, 1932 — July 31, 2025

Phyllis (Murray) Patten Serra, 92, passed away peacefully on Thursday July 31, 2025. She was born in Lynn, MA to the late Philip B. and Agnes C. (O’Donnell) Murray. As a young AirForce wife, she lived in many areas of the United States as well as in Spain. Phyllis had a zest for life and was a joy to be around. She enjoyed new adventures, loved to travel, socializing with
her many friends and cherished the time she spent with her family. Phyllis is predeceased by her beloved husband Robert Serra and her daughter Maureen (Patten) Pilon Riley. She will be dearly missed by her daughter Janet (Patten) Dermody of Wilbraham, Ma., her son Phillip Patten and his wife Cindy of Wilbraham, Ma., and her daughter Debra (Patten) Dorval and her husband Christopher of Vero Beach Fl. She was blessed with, and adored by her 15 grandchildren; Shaughn Cadieux (John), Ryan Dermody (Veronica), Phillip Pilon, Danielle Dryer (John), Jennifer Patten Perreault (Aaron), Kaitlyn Patten, Kevin Patten, Michael Dorval (Kaitlyn) and Bryan and Zachary Dorval, and 10 great grandchildren; Jonathan, Austin, Abbigail, Maddelyn Cadieux, Jacob and Savannah Dermody, Emma, Rory and Vivienne Dorval and Miles Perreault. Family and friends may gather for Phyllis’s Funeral Mass on Tuesday, August 26th at 11:00 AM at St. Michael’s Church, 128 Maple St., East Longmeadow. Burial will follow at 1:00 PM in MA Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St., Agawam. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 1640, Hagerstown, MD 21741.
