Obituary
Phyllis (Cieplik) Grondalski of Wilbraham, passed away on Sunday, February 7, 2021 at Lifecare Center of Wilbraham.
She was the caring daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Legarski) Cieplik; beloved wife of Chet Grondalski; devoted mother and mother-in-law of Claudia Kapinos and her husband Chet of Hampden; loving grandmother of Corrie Marino and husband Peter of Westborough, and Robb Kapinos and partner Tiffany Raines, of Belchertown; and doting great grandmother to Joseph and Teddy Marino and Madison Kapinos. She also leaves her cherished nieces and nephews, and sister in law Lorraine Kovalchek of Cherry Hill, NJ. She was predeceased by her caring sister, Dominica Armata and brothers Joseph, Theodore and Alexander Cieplik. Her family and friends meant everything to her and the memories she shared with us all made her the happiest. Chet and Phyllis celebrated 70 years of marriage on May 13, 2020. Phyllis worked for many years at Monsanto Company. She was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church, Indian Orchard, where she was a Lector and on the Parish Pastoral Council. Phyllis was on the Boards of Directors of the Association for Community Living and The Children’s’ Study Home, serving on numerous committees and fundraisers, and volunteered at numerous organizations, elementary schools, Hampden County Correctional Center and Western Massachusetts Regional Women’s Correctional Center, for which she was honored for more than two decades of volunteering in the Mother-Child Visitation Program. Family and friends may meet for Phyllis’ Funeral Mass on Saturday, February 13th at 11:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Church in Indian Orchard. Burial will follow in St. Aloysius Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 4-6PM at Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham. Memorial Donations may be made to Immaculate Conception Church, 25 Parker St., Indian Orchard, MA 01151.
