Peter J. Gallerani, Jr.

Peter Joseph Gallerani, Jr., 87, died peacefully on Tuesday, April 19, 2016. Born in Springfield to the late Peter and Rachael (Maruca) Gallerani, he was a proud Navy Veteran of World War II. He worked as a fitter at Smith & Wesson for 27 years until his retirement. Peter was a Shriner and a Mason as well as a communicant of St. Cecilia�s Church. An avid hunter and fisherman, Peter loved getting together with family, singing Irish songs and enjoying a fine cigar. He also enjoyed playing cards and listening to Italian operas. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 65 years Maria A. (Catalucci) Gallerani, his son Michael Gallerani and his wife Erin of Wilbraham, brothers Richard Gallerani and his wife Marianne of East Longmeadow and Edward Gallerani and his wife Marie of Belchertown, sister Dorina Krol and her husband Joe of East Longmeadow, cherished grandson Zachary and many beloved nieces and nephews. Peter�s Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, April 26th at 11:00 am at St. Cecilia�s Church, 42 Main St., Wilbraham followed by burial at 1:00 pm in MA Veterans� Memorial Cemetery, Agawam. Visitation will precede the Mass on Tuesday from 9:00 � 10:30 am at Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104-2396.
