Obituary
Paula M. (Matos) Laware, 58, died peacefully on Tuesday, October, 26, 2021 at home, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Moitalina, Porto de Mos, Portugal to Isabel (Santos) Matos and the late Antonio Matos, she was a longtime Wilbraham resident. Paula worked as a paralegal and legal secretary for Traveler’s Insurance Co. for 24 years and was a communicant of St. Cecilia Church. She is survived by her beloved husband Donald F. Laware and their son Zackary Laware, both of Wilbraham, her mother Isabel (Santos) Matos of Indian Orchard, siblings; Sofia Cardwell and her husband Tony of AZ, Luis Matos of Agawam and Diane Matos of Chicopee, as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. In addition to her father, Paula was also predeceased by her brother Joao Santos, grandmother Isuara DosSantos and niece Samantha Matos. Paula’s family would like to thank her best friend Maria Palatino and her Aunt Viola Santos for their loving support and care, especially over the last month. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 31st from 1:00 – 4:00 PM at Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham. Paula’s Funeral will Monday, November 1st at 9:00 AM at Wilbraham Funeral Home to a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at St. Cecilia’s Church, 42 Main St., Wilbraham. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Springfield. Memorial contributions may be made to Rick’s Place, 35 Post Office Park, Suite 3514, Wilbraham, MA 01095, the RD26 Foundation, in memory of Ryan Jude Doyle at http://rd26.org/donate or to the charity of one’s choice.
