Paul T. �Clancy� Delaney, 86, died suddenly on Friday, January 23, 2015. Born in East Boston to the late Thomas and Catherine (Curran) Delaney, Paul served in the Navy aboard the Piedmont and the Sierra during World War II. After leaving the Navy, Paul worked for Akers Motor Lines of Boston. He married his sweetheart Joan Arvidson and resided in Marblehead with their four children until moving to Western MA. He then opened his own business Clancy�s Seafood. He was a founding father of the Gerry 5 Veteran Firemen�s Assn. in Marblehead, MA. He also served as the post commander of the VFW post 5361 in Wilbraham. Paul loved to travel, visit local nursing homes, volunteer at the Holyoke Soldiers Home and most of all to share his love and kindness with all. Paul is survived by his daughter Joanne Delaney Szydlowski of Wilbraham, his beloved grandchildren; Kaitlyn, Matthew and Michael Szydlowski, and Daniel Delaney, all of Wilbraham, Kristopher and Carissa of Seattle, WA, and Karissa, John and Ellika Nickerson of Wilbraham, his devoted sister Alice, a Sister of Mercy and many loving nieces and nephews. Paul was predeceased by his wife of 59 years Joan (Arvidson) Delaney and his children Kristine, Paul Jr. and Mark Delaney. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, January 31st at 11:00 am at St. Cecilia�s Church, 42 Main St., Wilbraham. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4:00 � 7:00 pm at Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holyoke Soldiers Home, 110 Cherry St., Holyoke, MA 01040 or to Sisters of Mercy, 21 Searles Rd., Windham, NH 03087.
