Patricia (Dolly) Kmon (DelNegro) (79) of Wilbraham passed away on March 18, 2024. Born in Springfield, MA on May 15, 1944 to the late Carmine Sr. and her cherished mother and best friend Madeline (Coughlin) DelNegro, Dolly was beautiful, intelligent, and articulate. She was filled with style and exacting attention to detail. Her faith, conscience, and intellect guided her as a mother, wife, aunt, friend, and teacher of eighth grade language arts, a passion that fulfilled her every day for 50 years at Mabelle B. Avery Middle School in Somers, CT.
Her effect on those who loved her cannot be fully put into words. She was generous with her time and spirit and poured herself into her family. An only daughter with four older brothers, she worked tirelessly to put herself through school and gain as much knowledge and experience as she could so that she could be the best version of herself. She adored her three older brothers and even though she was the baby of the family, she always referred to her brother Bill as her “baby brother,” a testament to her nurturing spirit.
Dolly leaves behind her loving husband of 56 years, John, and her pride and joy, her son Jay who stood by her always, honoring her in steadfast devotion. She also leaves her sister-in-law, Margaret (Peggy), nieces Kathy, Theresa and Nina, nephews Billy, Vinny, Philip and Michael, and several great-nieces and -nephews, one of whom, Allie, owes her love of writing to her beloved aunt Dolly. She was predeceased by her brothers Carmine (DeeDee), Jr., Vincent (Vinny), Philip and wife Barbara, and William (Billy) and wife Laura.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 22 from 9 – 11am at Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham. Dolly’s Funeral Mass will follow on Friday at 12 Noon at St. Cecilia Church, 42 Main St., Wilbraham. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Springfield.
