Patricia Lee Gordon

October 9, 1948 — September 2, 2023

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Patricia Lee Gordon on September 2nd, 2023. Patricia, born on October 9th, 1948, in Granby, Massachusetts, was a shining beacon of love, laughter, and service throughout her life. Patricia was predeceased by her parents, Marita and Leo Gagnon. She attended Granby High School and then earned her undergraduate degree at Elms College and a Master's degree from Worcester State, showcasing her dedication to her craft as an educator. For 37 years, Patricia shared her passion for learning as an earth science teacher at Minnechaug Regional High School. Her impact reached far beyond the classroom, leaving a lasting legacy of knowledge and inspiration in her students. Her commitment to education extended to the school committee in Wilbraham, where she worked tirelessly to improve the lives of local students. Patricia was also a dedicated member of St. Cecilia's Parish, contributing her beautiful voice to the choir, sharing wisdom as a lector, and actively participating in the Women's Club. Love blossomed when she met George Gordon, who would become her devoted husband of 44 years. Together, they shared a love story that stood the test of time, filled with joyous moments and unwavering support for one another. As a mother, Patricia poured her boundless love and support into her children. Her daughter, Ashlee Salvador (Gordon), and son-in-law, Joe Salvador, of Wilbraham, MA, and Patricia's grandchildren, Weston and Avery Salvador, brought immense joy to her life and referred to her as “MiMi”. She was also the proud mother of her son, Grant Gordon, of Guilford, CT. Patricia's life was characterized by her dedication to others. She played a vital role in the Wilbraham Peach Festival, managing the parade and soda booths for many years. Her heart for service extended to the American Red Cross, where she selflessly volunteered as a disaster assessment volunteer, offering aid and comfort to those in dire need. In her leisure time, Patricia embraced her love for travel, often visiting national parks, where she found solace and wonder in the natural world as well as baking various desserts. She also leaves behind her sister, Linda Gagnon of Chicopee, MA. As we bid farewell to Patricia, her kindness, laughter, and unwavering dedication to family and community will forever be etched in our hearts. Her memory will continue to inspire us to cherish each moment, give selflessly, and live with a heart full of love. Patricia’s legacy is a reminder to live life to the fullest, just as she did, and to carry her spirit of warmth, service, and love forward in our own lives. Patricia’s Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, September 9, 2023 at 10AM from St. Cecilia Church with burial to follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
