Obituary
Patricia “Trish” Boylan, 64, died peacefully in her Wilbraham home on Thursday, April 30, 2020 after a nearly one year courageous and heroic battle with cancer. Her sixty-four years began in Springfield where she was born to the late Thomas and Patricia (Mitchell) Boylan. Known for her sweetness, kindness and dry sense of humor she grew up in Wilbraham and graduated from Wilbraham schools. Education meant a lot to “Trish” and her family and it became a life-long pursuit and occupation. She earned an Associate’s Degree in Computer Technology from Springfield Technical Community College and later graduated from American International College (AIC) with a Baccalaureate Degree in Education. Patricia cumulated her educational pursuits with a Master’s Degree in Education from Westfield State University.
Patricia then applied her hard earned learning to become an educator in Computer Technology for many years at the High School of Commerce in the Springfield Public Schools. Her last educational position took place at Putnam Vocational Technical Academy where she retired. Throughout her career, she provided guidance and served as a mentor to many students.
“Trish” was a communicant at Saint Cecilia’s Parish. She attended church regularly and adored singing in the choir. She missed it greatly during her long illness. Throughout her life and especially nearing the end, faith in God remained an anchor for her soul. She will be remembered as a dedicated, loving person.
Patricia is survived by her cherished daughter Bridget Eileen and her six cousins, Kevin, Brian, Chris and Patrick Mitchell, Jeanne McDonald and Patricia Lloyd, Christine and many Boylan cousins, as well as many devoted friends.
A private service will be held at Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Road, Wilbraham. Burial will follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, PO Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241-7005.
