Obituary
Patricia L. Luksis, 78, died peacefully on Thursday, April 9, 2020, at home after being diagnosed with colon cancer in December. She was daughter of the late Henry and Mary (Morrow) Best and grew up in Pittsburgh, PA. She retired from the US Postal Service at the Bulk Mail Center in Springfield. A communicant of St. Cecilia Church in Wilbraham, she was active in their Women’s Spiritual Growth Group as well as the Knitting Ministry. She was predeceased by her husband Jerome “Jerry” Luksis in 1993 and her son Steven Luksis in 2005. She is survived by her daughter, Leslie A. Bielas and her husband Michael, brothers: Robert (Gwen) and Paul (Jeannie) Best, sister Monica (John) Carse, grandchildren: Mike and Miranda Bielas and nieces and nephews: Michael Best (deceased 2014), Rob Best and Richard Best, JG, Annie and Liam Carse. Patricia was also predeceased by her siblings: Eugene ”Gage” and James Best and Elsa Mae Stiger. Family and friends are invited to Patricia's Memorial Mass to celebrate her life on Saturday, June 27, 2020 at 11:00 AM at St. Cecilia Church, 42 Main Street, Wilbraham. Patricia loved the color purple (and disliked black) so please consider wearing something colorful to her Service. Arrangements are under the care of Wilbraham Funeral Home. Besides lovingly adoring her family and grandchildren, her favorite things were the color purple, books and butterflies. Patricia was a very generous donor to many non-profit organizations and it would please the family if in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Covenant House, Times Square Station, PO Box 731, New York, NY 10108-0900 or to Unbound, 1 Elmwood Ave., Kansas City, KS 66103.
