Norma L. (Hansen) Nobbs

Norma L. (Hansen) Nobbs, 89, died peacefully on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center. Born in Springfield to the late G. Milton and Ruth (Holcomb) Hansen, she was a longtime Wilbraham resident. She graduated from Westfield High School in 1943 and was an active member of 4H. Musically talented, she belonged to a musical quartet whose performances often aired on Hartford radio stations. In the mid 1970�s she held the title of Ladies Golf Champion at The Orchards in South Hadley. Norma was a domestic engineer by choice. Her priority was to create a happy home for her family and friends. She will be sadly missed by her beloved husband of 68 years Ronald C. Nobbs, Jr., four daughters; Noreen Vassallo of Amherst, Susan Pereira and her late husband John Pereira, Jr. of Ludlow, Eileen Vautrain and her husband Robert Vautrain, Jr. of Whitinsville and Deborah Avery and her husband Ronald Avery, Jr of Monson, son Ronald C. Nobbs,III and his companion Rayanne Melbourne of Monson, 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and brother Milton Hansen. She was predeceased by her sister Eleanor Zavisza. Norma will be remembered for her kind words and gentle nature by all who knew her. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 24th from 3:00 � 6:00 pm at Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham. Family and friends may meet for Norma�s Funeral Service on Monday at 12:00 Noon at Wilbraham United Church followed by burial at 2:00 pm�in MA Veterans� Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St., Agawam. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wilbraham United Church, 500 Main St., Wilbraham, MA 01095.
