Nancy L. Ryan

November 13, 1945 — May 12, 2024

Nancy Lee (Paige) Ryan, aged 78, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 12th, surrounded by her loved ones, after a long battle with cancer. Nancy was born in Naugatuck, CT and grew up in multiple states as a military child before settling down in Wilbraham, MA. She is now reunited with her love of over 50 years, Edward F. Ryan, in Heaven.
Nancy is survived by her two sons, Kevin Michael Ryan, his wife Jennefer, and their children Hanna and Kashton, and Sean Patrick Ryan and his sons Patrick and Jack, as well as her brother, Arthur E Paige II and her sister Susan Paige of Triangle, Virginia.
Nancy graduated from Cathedral High School and American International College, where she earned a degree in education. She was a beloved elementary teacher and taught for many decades in the Springfield school system. In retirement, Nancy loved to spend time with her friends, family, and grandchildren. She enjoyed spending summers on Cape Cod where she would visit craft fairs, read books, and take late afternoon walks on the beach.
Nancy was a dedicated volunteer and gave generously of her time. She volunteered at both Nathan Hale and Hazardville schools in Enfield in the library where her grandchildren attended. She was also a classroom reader for preschoolers at Stowe Early Learning Center in Enfield.
Nancy will be remembered for her love and kindness by all who knew her.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 19th from 4-7PM at Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham. Family and friends may gather for Nancy’s Funeral Mass on Monday at 12:00 Noon at St. Cecilia Church, 42 Main St., Wilbraham. Committal will follow at 2PM in MA Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Agawam.
