Obituary
Muriel L. Nichols, 96, passed away Oct 7, 2022. She was born April 28, 1926 to the late Henry and Caroline Kane. Muriel grew up in New York and moved to Rhode Island with her husband Henry. She and Hank were avid square dancers and bowlers. Muriel also enjoyed reading and was a member of the book club at The Gardens of Wilbraham. She became active at the Senior Center and at Christ the King-Epiphany Church. She was predeceased by her husband Henry K. Nichols in 2014. Muriel leaves her loving children; Debra Cataldi and her husband Joe of Farmingville, NY., Nancy Pitaro of Kings Park, NY and David Nichols and his wife Theresa Meckel of Holyoke, her six grandsons; Joseph, Michael and Kevin Pitaro, Ryan and Brett Cataldi and Derek Nichols, her great grandchildren Nicholas, Jack, Bolton and the 4th great grandson coming soon. She also leaves her brother Ronald Kane of Vernon, Ct., along with several nieces and nephews. Muriel was also predeceased by her siblings, Dorothy Barnes, Mildred Powell and Henry Kane. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM at Christ the King-Epiphany Church, 758 Main St., Wilbraham. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St., Agawam. There are No Calling Hours. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial donation in Muriel’s name to the Alzheimer’s Assn, 309 Waverly Oaks Rd, Waltham, MA 02452. The WILBRAHAM FUNERAL HOME IS IN CHARGE OF THE ARRANGEMENTS.
