Obituary
Michael "Mike" Houck, 67, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, June 19, 2019. Born in Gallipolis, Ohio, January 31, 1952, he was the son of Raffaela (Federici) Houck of East Longmeadow and the late John Houck. Mike graduated from Springfield Technical High in the ROTC program. He proudly served as a Sergeant in the US Air Force and earned his BS of Computer Science from the University of New Hamphsire. Mike’s first aviation love was assembling and flying model aircraft, then in adulthood earning a private pilot's license for pleasure. Mike’s kindness and generosity was felt by all friends and family. Always present for every function his family could book. In the latter years he delivered meals to the home bound with tireless dedication and respect. He leaves his beloved sisters; Cynthia Nelson and her husband Eric of East Logmeadow, Lisa Hutter and her husband Mike of Springfield and Bunny Sticco of Agawam, and many nieces and a nephew. Always by his side his close friend, Pam McCalligett of Chicopee. Family and friends may gather for Mike's Funeral Mass on Thursday at 11:00 AM at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 1023 Parker St., Springfield. A private burial will be held in the MA Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam. Wilbraham Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to West Mass Elder Care, Meals on Wheels Program, 4 Valley Mill Rd., Holyoke, MA 01040.
