Mary Jane (Andrews) Monahan, 90, died peacefully on Thursday, October 15, 2026, with her loved ones by her side. Born in Holyoke to the late Michael and Genevieve (Starner) Andrews, she was a longtime Enfield, CT resident.

Mary was an amazing wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and dear friend to many over the years. She loved to read, watch golf, quilt and had a contagious laugh and always a joke for you. She touched many hearts in her life and was always surrounded by love.

In addition to her parents, Mary was also predeceased by her beloved husband Alfred Monahan, her son-in-law Richard Thompson, her brother Michael Andrews, and her sister Patricia VandeVort.

She will be sadly missed by her daughters; Mary K. Thompson of Ludlow and Ann Skiffington of Largo, FL, her grandchildren; Breanne, Kayla, and Liam Skiffington, her sister; Judy Andrews, her extended family of Michelle and Eric Matland, Julie Thompson, Kendra, Eric, and Samantha Matland as well as many nieces and nephews, and dear friends.

A special thank you to all the staff of Life Care Center of Wilbraham whose compassion, care, and love will never be forgotten.

Visitation will be held on Monday October 26th from 9:30 –11:15 AM at Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham. Mary’s Funeral Mass will follow at 12:00 Noon at St. Cecilia Church, 42 Main St., Wilbraham. Mary will be laid to rest privately, with her husband Alfred, at MA Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Agawam.
