Mary V. (Gaspar) Lanzoni

Mary V. (Gaspar) Lanzoni, 94, died peacefully on Thursday, December 8, 2016 at Life Care Center of Wilbraham. Born and raised in Ludlow, she was daughter of the late Joseph and Virginia (Machado) Gaspar and she lived most of her life in Springfield. She worked as a sales associate at Sears in West Springfield for 30 years and was a faithful communicant of Mary, Mother of Hope Church in Springfield. Mary�s greatest joy and love was her family. She cherished the time she could spend with them all at their summer home in York Beach, ME. Mary was a very vibrant person who loved to travel, play cards with her many good friends at Keystone Woods, and was an avid sports fan of all of the Boston Teams and UConn women�s basketball (Go Huskies!) Mary was predeceased by her beloved husband of 66 years, Walter John Lanzoni in 2013, granddaughter Mackenzie Powell, step brother Orlando Gaspar, and step sister Mary Czech. She was loving mother to; Cheryl Ryan and her husband Francis of Guilford, CT, Susan Powell and her husband James of St. Augustine, FL, John Lanzoni and his wife Maureen of Wilbraham and Paul Lanzoni and his wife Janice of Portsmouth, NH, caring sister of; Rita Taravella of Windsor, CT., and Tome de Sousa of Portugal, devoted grandmother of; Casey Ryan, Evan Ryan and wife Jenna, Kellie Ryan, Carter Powell, Chris Lanzoni and wife Katie, Meghan Baldwin and husband Tom, Maryanne, Alex and Tess Lanzoni, and cherished great grandmother to Noah and Liam Lanzoni. Visitation will be held on Monday from 4:00 � 7:00 pm at Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham. Mary�s Funeral will be Tuesday at 10:30 am from Wilbraham Funeral Home followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:30 am at Mary, Mother of Hope Church, 840 Page Blvd, Springfield. Burial will follow at 1:00 pm in MA Veterans� Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St., Agawam. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary�s name may be made to the Life Care Center of Wilbraham, 2399 Boston Rd., Wilbraham, MA 01095 or to the Soldier�s Home in Holyoke, 110 Cherry St., Holyoke, MA 01040.
