Mary Louise (Brzostecki) Pickering, 74, passed away on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at Life Care Center of Wilbraham surrounded by her loving family following a five year battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. Former longtime Wilbraham resident, Mary was born in Central Falls, RI to the late Peter and Anita Brzostecki. A 1959 graduate of Central Falls High School, Mary graduated from Roger Williams General Hospital School of Nursing in Providence, RI, where she served proudly as Vice President of the Class of 1962. She worked as a Registered Nurse at Mary Lane Hospital in Ware. A faithful communicant of St. Cecilia�s Church, Mary dedicated her life to raising her family. Affectionately called �Mimi� by her grandchildren, some of her greatest joys were spending time with them and attending their many sporting events and activities. She will be long remembered for her devotion to her family and her beautiful smile. Mary will be sadly missed by her beloved husband of 53 years, James T. Pickering, three children: James Pickering of Ludlow, David Pickering and his wife Lisa of Wilbraham and Karen Alves and her husband Tom of Ludlow, brother Peter Brzostecki and his wife Patricia of West Warwick, RI, sister-in-law Denise Pickering and her late husband Kenneth of Attleboro, MA, four grandchildren: Philip and Steven Pickering and Emily and T.J. Alves, many nieces, nephews and cousins, and her best friend Jacqueline Murray of Westerly, RI. Mary�s Funeral Mass will be Saturday, July 23rd at 11:00am at St. Cecilia�s Church. Entombment will follow at Most Holy Redeemer Mausoleum at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Springfield. Visitation will precede the Mass from 9:00 � 10:30am on Saturday at Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Cecilia Church Capital Improvement Fund, 42 Main St., Wilbraham, MA 01095.
