Longtime Wilbraham resident, Mary (Bagnall) Ablondi, 76, died peacefully on Sunday, December 14, 2014 with her family by her side. Born in Springfield, she was the oldest of eight children of the late George and Susan (Neylon) Bagnall. She moved to Framingham with her family in 1949 and attended St. Stephen�s School, graduating from Framingham High in 1956. In 1960 she graduated from the Garland School in Boston where she worked in the Fashion Industry. She worked first at Costume Service Center where she was in charge of designing costumes for use by the Boston Opera Company. She later began her career as Interior Designer for Ethan Allen stores, Kevin Michael Interiors and opened a design gallery with Virginia Barry, Longmeadow Interiors. Mary also used her extensive artistic experience at St. Cecilia�s Parish to design and make the church Advent Wreath ribbons and the Christmas window candles still in use today. Mary leaves her husband of 51 years Peter, her two daughters; Lauren Ablondi and Melissa Alves, three cherished granddaughters; Sabrina, Katrina and Arianna Alves, four sisters; Susan Nedoroscik and her husband John, Kathleen Moulton, Rosemary T. Blacquier and her husband James and Cecelia A. Putnam, two brothers; George J. Bagnall IV and his wife Joyce and Dr. Kevin T. Bagnall and his wife Nancy, good friends Theresa Munn and Joan Ardizzoni and cherished cousin Miriam Chaput. Mary was predeceased by her brother Bill Bagnall in 2003. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 18th from 4:00 � 7:00 pm at Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham. Family and friends may meet for Mary�s Funeral Mass on Friday at 10:00 am at St. Cecilia�s Church, 42 Main St., Wilbraham. Burial will follow in Adams Cemetery, Wilbraham. Memorial contributions may be made to Sr. Caritas Cancer Center, Cancer Survivorship Program, 271 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104.
