Marthe (Laframboise) Beauchamp, 99, of Longmeadow, Massachusetts, formerly of Enfield, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on September 13, 2026. She was the beloved wife of the late Dr. Eugene Beauchamp Jr. and a remarkable woman whose elegance, humor, energy, and love of life touched everyone who knew her.

Born March 25, 1927, in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, to the late Jean-Marie and Alice (Gravel) Laframboise, Marthe lived a life filled with adventure, accomplishment, family, friendship, and an appreciation for the world around her.

A woman of many talents, Marthe excelled as a competitive downhill skier, figure skater, and tournament tennis player and golfer. She was an accomplished artist who loved to paint and draw and had her own show in 2018. She earned a Master’s Degree in Economics from Laval University in Quebec City and later became a television personality and French teacher at the Berlitz School of Languages. After coming to the United States in 1958, she married, raised her family, and became deeply involved in her community.

Marthe devoted herself to numerous organizations, including the Hampden District Medical Auxiliary, Massachusetts Medical Auxiliary, Mercy Hospital Auxiliary, Twin Hills Country Club, Springfield Garden Club, and Le Cercle des Dames Française. She later enjoyed a successful 25-year career as a Realtor, licensed in both Massachusetts and Connecticut, and was the longtime buyer for the former Meadows Racquet Club Pro Shop.

Marthe was elegant, adventurous, resilient, compassionate, and wonderfully full of life. Her infectious humor and gift for storytelling could turn an ordinary moment into an unforgettable one. She loved good food, art, decorating, travel, entertaining, and beautiful surroundings, bringing her artistic flair and impeccable sense of style to everything she did.

And she loved to dance. Whether at a grand ball or in a living room, Marthe always found a reason to dance. She approached life with grace, spontaneity, joy, and enthusiasm.

Above all, Marthe was devoted to her family. She was a loving mother to Nicole (Barry) Sturgis, Monique Loizzo, and Pierre Beauchamp (Lisa Pierotti), and a cherished grandmother to Matthew, Emily, Danielle, Andrianna, Stephanie, Nicholas, and Chase. She was also a beloved great-grandmother to Ronin, Hayes, Evie, Chloe, and Rory, with one more on the way. She is survived by many beloved nieces and nephews, as well as her brothers and sisters-in-law. She was predeceased by three sisters and her brother.

Marthe’s elegance, humor, compassion, artistic spirit, and love of life made her truly one of a kind. She made people feel welcome, made them laugh, and reminded everyone around her that life was meant to be enjoyed. She leaves behind a lifetime of memories and stories that will be cherished and shared for generations to come.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, with calling hours beginning at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, 519 Longmeadow Street, Longmeadow, Massachusetts, followed by burial at Longmeadow Cemetery.
