Marion F. (Fitzpatrick) Rice

Marion (Fitzpatrick) Rice, 91 died on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at a local nursing home. Born in North Adams, MA, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Augusta (Westfall) Fitzpatrick. A resident of Brownstone Gardens, East Longmeadow since 1991, she previously lived in Springfield for 29 years and Bennington, VT for 37 years. Marion retired from the City of Springfield where she was a secretary in the Dietary Office at Municipal Hospital. A past president and lifetime member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #148 Women�s Auxiliary, she was a member of the former Young at Heart Club at St. Michael�s Church and the East Longmeadow Friendship Club. She enjoyed playing cards, MaJa and Bingo and trips to the casino and day trips with the Senior Center and Young at Heart. She is survived by her son, East Longmeadow Police Officer Edward Rice and his wife Natalie, cousin Marlene Lynch, her in laws and best friends, Richard and Evelyn Rabideau, sister in law Charlotte Martin and her husband Romeo and her four grand dogs. Marion was predeceased by her son, Kenneth Sausville. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Michael�s Church, 128 Maple St., East Longmeadow on Saturday, January 23rd at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dakin Pioneer Valley Humane Society, P.O. Box 319, South Deerfield, MA 01373-0319 or to East Longmeadow Council on Aging, 328 N.
