Obituary
Marie Therese Kowynia, 96, died peacefully on Tuesday, November 26, 2019. Born in West Warren, MA to the late Joseph and Ruth (Geurin) Brodeur (LaLancett), she was a longtime Wilbraham resident. A faithful communicant of St. Cecilia Church, she was a member of their Women’s Club and served as a greeter for many years. She was also a member of the Wilbraham Garden Club. She was preceded in death by her husband Mitchell J. Kowynia in 2012, as well as her beloved brothers Romuald “Frey” Brodeur and Bernard Brodeur. She is survived by her children: Kenneth Kowynia and his wife Wendy of Steamboat Springs, CO and Janny Kowynia of Goshen, NH, sister Phyllis Bigda of Falmouth, MA and two grandsons: Stefan and Christopher of CO. Marie Therese’s Funeral will be Saturday, December 7th at 10:00 AM at St. Cecilia Church, 42 Main St., Wilbraham. Burial will follow in Adams Cemetery, Wilbraham. Wilbraham Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to JGS Lifecare, 770 Converse St., Longmeadow, MA 01106.
